WCN needs a grant writer
- Arie is doing a World Carfree Day press release focussing on the street conversion competition and a local press release template for use by member groups. That will be posted on the members only webpage.
- Sept 22 Automat is doing the angels in traffic activity again. Anyone who wants to be a traffic angel, please sign up. You can talk to Steven or Arie.
- We need to do a press release about Autoholics Anonymous. Randty is concerned because Steve won't be here in the weeks before, so the launch won't have a lot of web stuff. Arie is concerned that the whole point of the project is media and we have no one to do media work around it. If we launch it in a subdued way, the whole project is likly to be invisible. We have Richard as a representative in the UK but we don't have people to do major media work now. We decided to have just a small press release to say that AA is open for members and at some later date when we have more media strength we can do a more public launch with events.

Questions for consideration:
1. How and where to find such people with skills?
2. We may have to hire them half way through the year because we won't have the money or even know about the grant for some months. How will this set?
3. Is the office big enough? How much would a larger office cost?
4. How disruptive would it be to activities to have 3 new people?
5. Would it be easier if some were external contractors?
6. Would we consider hiring someone in another country?
We need to continue talking about staffing for next year, defining Randy's and Kamila's tasks and assigning unassigned tasks like the resource centre.
For a start, Randy will keep a log of all the detailed stuff he does, so that we know what a person would have to do in order to replace him (for example, if he really does leave in April).
