25 April, 2007
Present:
Kamila, Steven, Radka, Christi, Bas
Anouncements:
- Steven is going the Visegrad meeting 27-29th (Fri-Sun)
- Tuesday May 1 is a Czech holiday, the office will be closed
- EYF confirmed that they received the grant acceptance form, so we should get money
soon
- The info@worldcarfree.net account should be checked when Steven is not in,
especially if we are waiting for something
- EYF asked for more documents on the 2006 final report, and we are sending it this
week
- Washington Post is still doing the Cycling in Europe story. We need Copenhagen
contacts and general info about cycling in Europe.
- Christi called ISP about volunteers for website
- Christi: there is a possibility of joining UNEP coalition of NGOs. It is useful for
contributing to policy suggestions coming out of the UNEP and for making policy
suggestions and comments to governments. The SC should approve this first. Christi
will email Randy, who can get the SC's opinions. Steven says someone would have
to be the point person responsible.
- Christi sent query letters to 2 foundations this week
- Christi has decentralization ideas. She sent a document to Randy and will send it to
everyone else. We will talk about it again next week.
- Steven says we can come up with a concrete proposal for Justin
- Rob will be leaving after Carbusters' next issue
Agenda:
1. Justin's position
2. Rob leaving
3. Meeting notes
4. Magazine, subscription drive (Spring discount) and Kagi
1. Justin's position
- We can give Justin 3 proposals
a. Visegrad Coordinator, Membership Coordinator, Istanbul Youth
Exchange Coordinator, bulletin and assistance with magazine
b. Visegrad Coordinator, Magazine editor
c. Magazine Editor, Membership Coordinator and Istanbul Youth Exchange Coordinator
- RE: option b, Steven says that it might be difficult to balance the Visegrad project
with the magazine.
- RE: option c, Kamila and Christi think this could be the best one. We would have
to find someone to take over the Visegrad project ahead of time.
The decision is that Steven will give the 3 proposals to Justin and report Justin's answers next week.
2. Rob leaving
- Rob will leave after the next issue. We need a new editor.
The decision is that we will discuss it more next week, after talking to Justin (see Agenda item 1).
3. Meeting notes
- Kamila says the notes are difficult to follow because of the layout. Sometimes they are too vague about decisions.
The decision is that Kamila will review old meeting notes and choose an appropriate template to be used for all future meetings.
4. Magazine pricing, subscription drive and Kagi
- Bas and Kamila say that we should solve the magazine pricing issue before the next issue
- Bas and Kamila say Kagi should be changed for the Spring discount within 2 weeks.
- Kamila says someone who can change prices in Kagi will have to do that also, both for the new price and for the Spring discount.
The decision is that Steve will come on Thursday, 3 May to train Bas on Kagi, and that we will solve the pricing issue before the next issue of Carbusters.
